i use shimano discs. the wear you see is from my single speed jump bike, which has horizontal drops. the pad contact is fine. the drops are properly made and the mounts are set up right. i just spend all my csh on frames and suspension, so i have to be frugal when i get new brakes and stuff. plus a little wear on a brake rotor makes it work better right?
